Building on our Houseboat

At the beginning of the summer Chris and I started building an addition to our houseboat. We have doubled in size. Chris' brother JJ was a big help. I tried to do as much as I could but I'm not as strong as I thought I was. I didn't think everything would be so heavy.lol. Chris just told me to stand there and look pretty, I thought to myself...I can handle that!
These are the big blocks of foam that sit in the water and hold up the house.

Chris, JJ and I put all the floor joist together.

Chris is placing the sub floor in place.

I did help a little. I got to use the nail gun and nail the footers on the wall. Oh yea power tools!
He was proud!

Now the real work... Chris and JJ put up the other 3 walls.

The roof joists went up next...

Our friend Joab helped Chris put the tin peices for the rook up.

The outside is done... now we are working on finishing up the inside

So far so good...

Last years Poggy Party

Little did we know when we went to last years party to mark the end of the fishing season that Chris would be part of the crew this year. Last year a few of our friends that were already working for Omega(Chris' company) asked Chris and I to help set up their party. Chris was the grill master! After food was cooked... the fun began. Our friend Jason and his band played till the wee hours of the morning! We had a blast!

Jason doing what he loves!!!

Me, Stephanie, and Neal

Neal and Chris work on the same boat, The Sandy Point

Someone bumped into Steph when she was sipping her beer... she chipped her tooth

Too much fun!

Dog Bite

Saturday afternoon Chris and I went to a friends houseboat, just north of ours. Chris was inside watching a football game and went to pet their pit bull and the dog ended up bitting him on his face. Went to the ER and after almost 5 hours, they started to stitched him back up....41 stitches later.
Chris tells me that it looks much worse then it feels... I don't beleive him. He is still planning on going back to work today. I guess it's hard to call in sick when the place you work travels around an ocean. Don't think you can just call and say "come get me" :)

Getting better...

Chris bought a fixer upper...

Chris bought himself a fancy new car... well new to us. It is a 1990 Mercedes. It belonged to a friend of ours. Needs a little bit of work but runs. He can't wait till his off season so he can have some time to tinker with it.

A little piece of river life

Bradley wanted Chirs to teach him how to Scuba dive. It is hard to do it in the river since you can't see much under the water. Bradley did well!

Chris' sister, Kim and her girls Natalie and Destiny came out for a barbque and we all went tubing and rode our friends jet ski

Our little hunter... Melman. So sad....
